The governments of Cambodia and Thailand in November will launch a new border crossing in Banteay Meanchey province and Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province to facilitate entry of citizens from both countries. Cambodian officials met with their Thai counterparts on Friday to discuss the new checkpoint, which is located in Ou Chrov district’s Ou Bei Choan commune in Cambodia and Khok Sung district’s Non Mak Mun commune in Thailand.

After the meeting, both sides announced the border would be named Dambon 43 and would be officially launched in November. Until then, citizens from both sides can cross it temporarily. A police checkpoint and other infrastructure are now being built. Oum Reatrey, deputy governor of Banteay Meanchey province, said the provincial governor led Cambodian officials to Thailand to discuss the new border crossing.
