15 Billion Baht Budget for Airport to Double its Capacity

CityNews – Chiang Mai International Airport plans to invest over 15 billion baht to increase its capacity.

 

Squadron Leader Monthanik Rakngam, the General Manager of Chiang Mai International Airport and team made an announcement on February 28th on a new project to increase the airport’s capacity due to the dramatic increase of the passengers over the past years. The capacity of the airport is at eight million passengers per year but the report revealed that the number has been increasing every year and in 2017 there was reportedly 10.2 million passengers arriving at the airport which is an 8% increase from the previous year.

Thought plans had been passed to build a new (additional) Airport ?

What happened to the new airport proposal? Oh, sorry I forgot. Slowly, slowly. 25 years from now.....slowly, slowly.....

More money!? 15 billion baht is going to reach no goal. It´s when people realize how to work effective things start to happen.

now we know why they didn't say where the new airport would be

I was told that that new airport land had been bought by  a prevous prime minister with the expectancy to make a little profit, but the new highway between the present airport and ware the new airport was was planed, was  aproved and built, unfortunatly he left the job and didn't get to aprove the  airport job

How can it double its capacity with limited runways and no real room for expansion?

Then they'll funnel that double capacity though the single choke-point of Immigration.  What could go wrong?
