The subject of hazing - subjecting new members of a college to punishments - is in the Thai news again.

This time Facebook posts on two popular sites showed four men on the ground in a bridging position having their naked bodies spray painted by seniors at a college.

The pictures appeared on the "Gentle and Happen" page and the "Anti Sotus" page where a tagline said: "Are you along for the ride or will you be a cog in the wheel".

Netizens commented aplenty asking whether such behavior was appropriate or not, reported Thai Rath.

The educational institute was not mentioned.

The focus on getting the subjugated naked, and the unusually homoerotic nature of the "painting", and the hazing here in general, is a bit alarming.

But sorting people into the hierarchy is probably just inbred into the "culture" here?

Is there a lot of similar hazing among female students here?

But I guess it builds "character"? That's why they do it in the Army, right?

Usually, this only makes the news when someone dies during hazing, so maybe some progress is being made?

Hazer #1, "What can we do to haze the new guys?"

Hazer #2, "We could get them to down as many bottles of beer until they puke?"

Hazer#2, "Nah, let's strip them naked and do stuff to them"

Sounds like a lot of pent-up feelings being redirected.

Covering skin (an organ) in paint can absolutely affect health. The chemicals  are toxic and are easily absorbed and enter the bloodstream, etc. Not to mention the inhalation of the fumes into the lungs.
