12 Month Non Immigration Visa

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I do project work around asia and in between have been staying in Thailand over the last 2 years when not working.

A mutliple entry tourist visa is no good for me as I often travel in and out each month, so my tourist visa would be used up quite quickly.

I am from UK and currently have Singapore permanent resident status. Would they issue a visa in Singapore in these circumstances?

I dont work in THailand and my company does not have any entity here. I dont have any other connections to Thailand. I am single.

I am guessing I would need the business type visa and would need a sponsor to do this. I have seen that some companies offer this for a fee of around 7000 BAHT. Has anyone got a similar 12 month non immigration visa and can advise me on how easy it is to get and if I qualify?

Any alternatives or suggestions?

thanks

Joe

I think the Thai Embassy in Singapore is a bit reluctant to give out multiple entry visa's.

I work for a very large MNC in Singapore covering the region so have to travel a lot but we have been told no multiple entry Business visa's available.

You would have no problem getting a multiple entry "O" visa to vist friends and family from the consulate in Hull if you are ever back home for a visit - thats what I might try if I have time.

thanks for the info, I was also told that the Thai consulate also operates in Liverpool once every couple of weeks so I may not have to travel to hull!!

  • 2 weeks later...

just wondered that since the rule for this visa is you can submit the application by post and also you must not be in Thailand. On my next trip out of Thailand (eg Malaysia) could I courier my documents back to UK and have someone post them to Hull and then courier the passport back to me...

any thoughts?

Wonder if the Thai Consulate would care if I was shown as being entered to Malaysia and not yet exited...

Anyone tried this?

It would save me the air fare and time to go back to UK and it makes no difference to me if I pay for accomodation in KL as apposed to BKK..

Any thoughts?

Iwas always under the impression that sending travel documents across a national boundary was a no no and you could face serious consequences if found out. I could be wrong though, I often am :o

thanks for info.. I searched and found a couple of other threads here on TV that advised against it saying the VIsa may not be valid.

I just emailed the Thai Consulate in UK to ask the question....will post the reply if I get one...

As it will be Thailand’s Immigration Bureau, not the Thai consulate, either to grant or to deny admission to Thailand based on that visa you may want to read also this:

- Visa that have not been obtained by the traveller personally are considered incomplete documents. The passport holder will not be allowed to stay in Thailand according to the visa but only according to the rights of the nationality of the passport holder.

Hi,

just wondering if they would know whether I had been to UK or not. In my passport it would only show entrance/exit to/from Malaysia. There would not be any stamps in passport for entering/leaving UK whether I had gone there or not from Malaysia... I wonder if they have computer tracking and share that information??

Not something I want to find out at the immigration desk though .. so will see what reply I get to my email from consulate and if they advise on immigration department policy.

oops - just realised that they would be able to tell as they would expect to see a double set of entry/exit to/from malaysia if I passede through there on way to UK.. and the dates on Thai/Malaysia stamps would be too close together for me to have spent any time in UK...

I guess it is the 'personally' bit that is open to interpretation as they allow application by post in UK ..
