Maybe the Farang said something he should, not have, but is it funny when a Thai is getting cleaned up the Thai police cannot wait to become involved, and on the last few occasions they are nowhere to be seen, funny that. In a family-friendly place allegedly. Anyway, it took two of them, further proves Thai's don't fight fair

Yes old chum and the Thais will tell you themself, because they were never colonized they are not bound to The Marquess of Queensberry Rules

Thats how many attacks this week reported in Pattaya alone this week??

Dont let it put you off though  - be like Davethailand -  far better to be a no brained sex tourist that will go no matter what the cost than choose another better family friendlier destination!!

A no brained sex tourist?

You don't even know me or anything about me so keep your idiotic comments to yourself!

Because you don't know anything if you are not living there permanently
So 13 years there until 2014 and most of those evenings being on walking st means I don't have a slightest clue What it's like?

Worse stuff goes on in London and it's surrounding boroughs daily so for me I wouldn't let that story stop me from going.

I still have friends and family there also so I still visit.

He was quite lucky as the guys did not really know how to fight. Alot of these beatings end up much worse.  The first attacker almost knocked himself to the ground on a couple of occasions with wild handbags at dawn haymakers.

Yes, one of them couldn't throw a  punch without falling over, the other was only brave enough to administer kicks to the head while the guy was down. Happy to see the foreigner brush it off and walk away.

lots of fight experts on here that seem to think they would be very professional and perfect during a street altercation...they must get no nerves or adrenalin and perform like  cool champion boxers at all times, what a load of bullshit!!...cmon these guys were hyped up and it all ended ok for all..no one seriously hurt ,the thai guy sells cds and doesnt claim to be a fighting expert,he was angry and tried to elbow the farang mostly and his mate joined in..if you think you could or usually do better than this then lets see the video of your latest street fight with you performing so good..most street fight are very similar to this and  most involve alcohol so what do you expect to see??!!!

Like me.  I'd scream like a scalded bitch and start biting like a rabid soi dog.  It's all about the psychological advantage. 555

If one is stupid enough to provoke it or get involved, go for it....

A huge number of attacks on foreigners in Thailand are not provoked…Gangs of Thais sometimes see foreigners as easy prey because they know NO ONE will stand up for them -least of all the Police force!!

Oh, the innocence. :passifier:

Says it all, yes. Says that davethailand, former owner of a notable Walking Street institution, knows a helluva lot more about the matter than you'll ever imagine.

Now that all has been said, are you done?

Nonsense and fear-mongering that deserves deletion.

no it doesn't deserve deletion at all because these kinds of attacks seem to  be more frequent.

of course such facts are an inconvenient truth to you

So basically you have no idea about Walking Street because you haven't been there in 9 years.

Here's a little update. At least 90% (a guess - could be less, could be more) of foot traffic on Walking Street is made up of foreign tourists that are not involved in the sex industry at all. Reading the bright neon signs is as close as they get. Things have changed a lot over the years because a large percentage of tourists in Pattaya are "real tourists", not sex-tourists.

That Frenchman doesn't have a clue what happened. He certainly doesn't look like the recipient of a beatdown by 5 Thais.

It was nice to see someone in the Soi 9 Police Station tending to his wounds though. I've seen a bleeding guy in there offered no more assistance than a bottle of water to drink.

Gibbs; Rule #9: Never go anywhere without a knife.

... Rule #10  Be prepared to use it.

Rule #12  Keep knife at home - keep mouth shut - keep smiling.

Then why are they in Walking Street? - is it the fine cuisine and the panoramic views..please do us all a favour!!
