Would you be happier if he was in hospital fighting for his life?
When the objective is to steal, there do not have to be serious wounds. They might have just knocked him down, stole what they wanted and took off.Nasty injuries happen in fights.

Were you there?

Doesn’t 5-1gives u some insight?

Did he not tell the police his name and age? Not much injuries for a 5 man attack.

It was a robbery. He was knocked unconscious and then they took his stuff and left. They didn't beat him when he was down as their main intention was not to hurt him but to rob him.

Story sounds a bit bare and his scratches look suspicious. I think the chances he took a beating from ladyboys is high.

I will reserve my opinion when the next TVF news update is provided, i.e. he was attacked by a mob of Ladyboys, and if anyone can't tell, he is so drugged up, just look at his eyeballs :sorry:

First and last time ?

Shouldn't he be wearing a shirt whilst out in public ?

Maybe get some more "defensive" tattoos to ward off any future attacks.

They stole his tee shirt .

No. They have decreased in both frequency and severity.

Most of the time, a Farang makes a Thai lose face. Loudmouths get away with it in the Anglo West, but it dosn't go unanswered here. On the other hand, Farangs need to be very careful in certain night clubs because the staff can react with little provocation. That being said, I have had 5 loudmouth confrontations  in the last year, 2 in Cambodia, and three in Pattaya - and they were all with rude Farangs.

5 ,my goodness you seem to attract problems

i walk all the time on soi bakhao and not had a problem but maybe its the start of problems there , there are never any police patrolling , so its worrying if i try to get to my hotel and this is happening , its no good for thailand , i can believe this happened as it is dark and nobody about especially no police , hope they catch them

Glad there is someone here who thinks this is possible  and a problem.

My take is that in the evening, particularly at weekends, a lot of kids are coming into town from nearby, you can often see them on Sukhumvit. When they run out of money, easy pickings are a-plenty late at night!

Unlike someone above I think this type of crime is likely on the increase.

but that's a real Caucasian French man, it's the others you are supposed to beat up

10 years back  tourist beatings  were commonplace.

They were, more than nowadays?

We had a bit of a run of overly enthusiastic security in some clubs that made bad press, is that what you mean?

Pre 10 years back, attacks on tourists were unheard of, and I have felt the increase was more 'recent' times.

Attacks on tourists need to be punished more strictly, to deter them, bad for the image and industry.

Things like this would not happen so often if there was a 24 hours police presence in the areas most visited by foreigners. The problem is there are no police walking and making it known they are there to protect. Instead they concentrate in places like Walking Street and forget the rest of the city.

I and many other expat used to visit Pattaya regularly but now the city is simply chaotic; crime on the rise; dirty seawater; infrastructure cracking; and the locals are surly.  If this keeps up- the place will implode-  The chinese tourists can have the place .

He looks bat sh*t crazy........

His "eyebrow" got hurt

Walking around Pattaya, drunk at 3-4-5am is not the best idea. Pattaya is getting worse with each passing month.

How quickly people turn on Pattaya because of a couple indiscretions by a bunch of anti socials, It is still a lovely place to holiday as more and more tourists arrive every day as testimony , family friendly resort,,, if you don't venture out after dark, when quality tourist's are attacked it becomes a problem, because as we all know there are not that many quality tourists, so they should be protected, quality tourists include Frenchmen and women, quality tourists are not cheap charlie's and contribute to the well being of Thai businesses, these sort of attacks happen everywhere not just Pattaya, Thai's in general would also be outraged by these events as it burns a hole in their pocket as well as their pride, when the culprits are brought into custody, once again will families be able to venture out after dark and empty their wallets to assist the thai economy.
