Counter Payment Option Air Asia

Featured Replies

Has the counter payment option on Air Asia's website been discontinued? All I see is 'pay by credit card' and 'within 10 minutes'...

A FAQ

Last asked on March 11.

Most likely explanation: too late/too short before planned flight.

When did you try, when do you plan to fly?

As a matter of policy I don't use Air Asia.  That said, there was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago; some of the replies indicated that the "pay at 7-11 option" is not available for flights within the very near future, e.g. 1 or 2 days; if this pertains to you, pretend you are booking a flight farther in the future as a test.

After quite a while on hold, that was confirmed to me by the chat helpline. They said that it was now only available for 'domestic flights'. Guess, I will have to look for another airline, or walk 1980s style into a travel agency!

Just now, and for September.

Sounds like you were taken for a ride/get rid off.

Just tried a booking to KL up to the payment selection.

Tried the same for September.

No difference.

Have you checked that THB was selected as currency for payment at start of booking?

I continued the September booking to KL with Purchase (fake data of course).

Not the slightest problem to see.

Your booking is not over 90000 Baht?

Okay, solved after a bit of fiddling. The problem seems to be that I wanted to fly one-way, so instead of Bangkok to Perth and back Sydney to Bangkok, I will enjoy two train trips in Australia from Perth to Sydney and back.

Sydney to Bangkok

Yes that seems to be the problem in this case.

If the flight origin is not in Thailand then the counter option is not available.

That's what they wanted to say with "domestic".

I just tried it with the reverse direction (Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok return flight).

The price is shown during the booking as approximate THB amount ( ≈ ).

In the end I would be directed to my Bangkok Bank's direct debit dialog (e.g.).
