snoop1130 Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Police bust alleged drug ring in Bangkok and Nonthaburi By Kornkamon Aksorndech, Wichit Meesawat The Nation Thai police have arrested a Nigerian drug suspect and three Thai alleged accomplices along with a large amount of narcotics in Bangkok and Nonthaburi. They also seized assets worth Bt16 million from the gang, Tourist Police Bureau deputy head Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpan told the media on Monday. Chukwuka Kingsley Onyenekwu, 29, was arrested at a Ratchaburana shopping mall along with 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” and 1,885 ecstasy pills on Sunday. This followed the arrest of a Thai man, Sutthiman Samankaew, 29, who was found with 10 yaba pills at a condominium in Bangkok’s Phasi Chareon district on Friday night. Sutthiman’s arrest subsequently led to the arrest of Sirinda Khampratheung, 20, and Hathailak Sindhukut, 28, in Nonthaburi’s Bang Yai district during a police sting operation on Saturday to buy 50 grams of “ice” from Hathailak. Following the two women’s arrest, police seized 20 packs of organic marijuana, 2,352 ecstasy pills, 43 bottles of ketamine, 300 grams of “ice”. Police also impounded the gang’s assets worth Bt16 million, including two houses worth Bt7.1 million, gold ornaments worth Bt340,000, two land title deeds worth Bt3.3 million and three cars worth Bt1 million. The suspects reportedly confessed to have dealt drugs for two to three years. It is alleged that Onyenekwu got the narcotics from a supplier in another country and dropped them in Samut Prakan, where they would be passed on to Hathailak. Hathailak allegedly hired Sirinda to deliver the drugs to a customer at Bt9,000 per time. As four suspects were initially charged with possessing drugs with intent to sell, and Onyenekwu was hit with an additional charge of overstaying his visa. Surachet said police were still searching for other accomplices. In a separate drug bust in Ubon Ratchathani’s Khemmarat district, a Thai man, Phuttha Kongpetch, 41, and his wife, Ladsamee Silawongjan, 43, were arrested in possession of 52,000 yaba pills following a tip-off about a drug delivery on Sunday night. visarunner Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 good riddance, however the comment that the Nigerian will also be charged for overstaying his visa, this made me smile as obvious this would be the least of his worries. Amazing that they could trade 2-3 years in an local enviroment. 2
