Asthma FostAir Inhaler required, any ideas where to find these?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Recently moved to Pattaya, made sure to bring at least a triple dose of all medication I take for my asthma, that being the regular blue Ventolin inhalers and more importantly the pink fostair ones. Now the Ventolin is easy to find but I'm not having much luck for fostair,  hoping some members of the community here could possibly help. Tried most pharmacies here, even popped into Pattaya memorial hospital but no luck.  Any ideas where I could possibly get it?

Many thanks in advance :)

Have you considered Seretide as an alternative?

Clenil might work for you.

It sounds like the same chemical.

I've never seen Foster anywhere here but I haven't been looking.

You can buy it in dose 50 per puff at Boots Royal Garden Mall or dose 250 per puff at Fascino North Pattaya road.

Not sure about equivalent puffs to your current med.

Beclometasone 17α,21-dipropionate (a derivative of Beclometasone) is reported as an ingredient of Clenil in the following countries:

  • Thailand

Clenil is nto the same as it contains only one of the 2 drugs that are in Fostair.

Fostair contains a steroid plus a bronchodilator. Foster is an exact equivalent. Otherwise, there are several other inhalers available that contain a bronchodilator plus a steroid but one or both of them woudl be different drugs (in same class() as what is in fostair.

Try to find Foster. If that fails consult a doctor regarding a posisbel change.

Yeah it's the steroid that I need in conjuction with the bronchodilator otherwise if to much time passes without it I end up having wicked coughing fits, thanks for all the comments hopefully I can find Foster

I looked it up and Fostair can be used as either a bronchodilator  (rescue med) or prevention med (steroid).

You also use Ventolin which of course is only a bronchodilator.

I'm not a doctor of course but it sounds like you're now using TWO bronchodilators.

Of course you should continue to use what's been working for you if you can get the meds.

If not, I'm going to share my regimen also for asthma which has worked very well for me for a very long time for pretty much total prevention of acute asthma attacks.

Day --

4 puffs Ventolin bronchodilator (one minute between)

Then

2 puffs Clenil puff dose 50 prevention steroid

Night --

(same)

Curious for a while now.  Do you use 'nto' on purpose in many of your posts?

Thanks,

Terry
