CityNews – Chiang Mai Provincial Employment Office clarified overcrowding issues at the immigration One Stop Service.

 

In past few days, there has been growing reports on the overcrowding of the immigration One Stop Service (OSS). The OSS is a temporary migrant registration centre in compliance with the new executive decree on foreign workers announced in June 2017 prescribing that employers be fined 400,000-800,000 baht for every foreign employee working illegally as well as facing possible jail time. Workers are required to report in person at the centre between February and March at which users are complaining about sluggish service procedures.

Typical in Thailand, procrastinate until the last minute, then expect first class service when everybody show-up at the last minute.

I was there for a TM30 report at building 3 on Monday afternoon and there were hundreds there with small kids,babies etc. Saw the same crowds when passing a few weeks ago.

 

We should have no complaints.
