Wine in a box

Hi,

    Can anybody tell me how long wine in a box can be kept unopened.There is a date when boxed,but no expiry date.We all know that you can keep bottled wine forever,but have never thought about this before as I usually drink the box when opened.

Put mine in the fridge and leave the box there.

 

Pour a glass and take it out of the fridge in good time to come up to room temperature (Red wine).

 

It lasts me until the box is empty.

 

No time limit for me and so far all is well.

Wasn't what I asked.What I wanted to know is how long a box of wine will last unopened

It depends on the wine and also on the outer circumstances like the temperature. So it's not possible to give you a definitive answer.

But you can juste taste the wine, then you will know if it's still ok or not

Many years ago in Australia when wine boxes were first introduced they were advertised as "the wine will last for ever".

 

Some wags were taking their depleted wine boxes back to the shops and complaining that the wine had not lasted and wanted a replacement.
