So sorry I bought Daikin Aircon

Featured Replies

Just over 18 months ago I bought a Daikin Aircon from Modern Air. Now it is pouring water at any settings. Daikin said "sorry, 1-year warranty finished". Pay up. I'm in downtown BKK so service is  642 baht / unit (exclude the spare part, labour and cleaning). So, the 642 is just to come over. Cleaning service is 963 baht. (exclude the checking of chemicals).

Is this just Daikin or are they all the same?

Sounds like the drain from the indoor unit is blocked, can happen with any brand.

Could be bugs have made their home in the pipe, blocked with green mould etc.

You'll just have to bite the bullet and pay somebody to unblock it.

Sure, I suspect its just a blocked drain. Last time this happened with my older Daikin, the Daikin guys came out, charged me 600 baht, could not fix it, told me they can take my order for a new unit! I kindly kicked them out and called the building tech guy. He fixed the aircon in 15 min (that was almost 3 years ago and its still working fine - so Daikin units are not so bad, its their people that are :). I already booked the building guy to come fix it tomorrow. Daikin can fly to %^$^$#^.

shouldn't cost more than 500 baht for a thorough cleaning for both inside and outside components which would clear any condensate drainage problems, regular yearly maintenance...better shop around a bit...
