Moving to another province

Featured Replies

I just moved from Chonburi to Chiang Rai. Went today to Immigration to renew my retirement visa. Was told cannot do because you have to be here for 90 days, and same applies for 90 day report. So I have to return to Chonburi to do those 2 things. Just a heads up for people.

That seems strange, did you submit a TM.28 to Chiang Rai immigration to notify your change of address, plus a TM.30 from the householder of where you will be living?

Was going to, but did not because my new address would be in the computer and don't want to risk Chonburi saying no because you have moved.

There is no rule that states you have to be in the province where you are applying for 90 days.

Was that the office in the city or the one in Mae Sai? Perhaps try at the other office.

It was at the office in Chiang Rai city. They were quite adamant about it and not friendly at all.

It might be worth the trip to try at the office in Mae Sai. Be sure you take proof of residence with you to prove you now live in Chiang Rai.

I am already booked to fly back to Chonburi tomorrow to do it there. Seems it might be a local rule, very frustrating. Now when at Chonburi on Friday, I will ask them about the 90 day reporting. For proof of residence, my partner just writes a letter stating I live there with copy of id card and house papers.
