Police said the accident happened at 9pm on the outbound Kubon road in front of the MaxValue department store and in front of the Phattaharin housing estate in Bangkok's Klong Sam Wa district.

Piraporn Sajjaphanpong, 28, died soon after she was removed from the wreckage of her Toyota Yaris. She had a big gash on her forehead.

Police said a driver and two passengers in a Toyota Vios car were injured and were taken to a nearby hospital.

The truck driver, Thassanee Kaewphukhiew, 35, was also injured and taken to Nawamin 9 Hospital.

Witnesses told police that they saw the pickup suddenly swerve to the right, mount the island and flip into the air before falling on to the two incoming cars.

Police have yet to interrogate the pickup driver to determine why he lost control of his vehicle.

why is it that almost every crash photo in Thailand looks like the vehicle was going 200 kph?

this is a rhetorical question.

Ex curbside motors in UK in my younger days.

You know the idea.

Can I have a run around the block?

Sure mate, go for it but I can't promise the car will still be here when you get back. ???

Ahhh, the dear old Humber Pig, spent many a happy riot in the back of one of those

At one point in NI some had so much armour plate added they couldn't get over a 4 inch kerb. Was in one when it got the front wheels up but burst one of the cv joints on the back axle trying to climb the 4 inches.

Long interesting walk back for the section.

Exactly what I thought on seeing the picture. Then I looked at the weight of a 4 door pick-up and found its maybe 2.5 tonnes. At 120kph thats some impact.

Surprising that the average weight of a pickup is as you say around 4700 pounds or 2.3 tonnes. Never thought they were that heavy.

Interesting... So when it’s a pickup it’s the driver that looses control, but when a BMW than it’s the car loosing control 555.

I just love it here:)

Some drivers are already getting into the spirit of Songkran driving style...

I was saying that a few days ago, I have noticed a distinct increase in crazy driving where I live, even my wife agrees.

Rhetorical but I'll offer an answer...

they're made of paper-thin metal to save costs...

lean on one & they collapse.. never mind in an accident!!!
