You need to understand that some people just can't function in this world and will always be a problem, no matter how much effort we put in trying to correct them.

So death penalty is the only solution, even if you start to cry about it.

Hence life in prison without the chance of parole.

Yes they lose their freedom (and that's about all) and in most western countries live a life of relative luxury compared to many taxpayers who contribute to their upkeep.  If no death penalty at least bring back some form of punishment (hard labour?) so they contribute to their upkeep.  Maybe a few Bangkok Hiltons built in western countries.

in thailand estimated 60% sentenced are miscarriages of justice - framed by police, tortured to confession, paid by the wealthy perpetrator to do time for him. Many are without layers or told to confess in hope to half their sentence, defence can be also bribed. With rampant corruption all police will meddle with an investigation, cover or destroy evidence, every prosecutor and judge will take money. So out of those 500 some 300 are doing time for nothing. Everybody knows, that drugs are produced, transported and distributed by police, so many examples every month in the media and from street talk. They control probably the majority of the market, so very convenient for them to swipe any competition. Same goes for controlling human trafficking, paid killing, prostitution, gambling etc. Don't expect from police proper investigation, they are very often not professional, bribed their way into police academies, through exams and into well oiled jobs.

Which is very expensive, always a chance of escape/making babies, a chance of the criminal doing crimes in jail to other inmates and doesn't have the scare off effect to other folks.

Thailand even doesn't fullfill the death punishment so what's Amnesty sticking their nose in? Get tired of people like them, why don't they go after Oxfam Novib?
