U.S. says air strikes cripple Syria chemical weapons program

The Americans had to ask the Russians for a list of "acceptable targets" The Russians gave them the list which included the Barzeh research center scheduled for demolition latter this year. So US and UK tax payers paid $ millions to demolish a building worth nothing!!

Excellent on-the-ground report from Douma by award winning journalist Robert Fisk:

Excellent how? It's just another Fisk job. Basically he says nothing concrete, but manages to cast doubt (based on less than little) as fits his standing bias.

None of us should doubt. It is bad to doubt.

Actually it is shockingly, traitorously.patriotically disloyal to doubt.

Yes, I hope you turn them to the right or left before you quick march

It is shockingly, traitorously.patriotically disloyal to doubt. so do not doubt this - Trump is the nemesis of everything the US stands for, he is the antithesis of success and good, the antithesis of Midas.

Who wants to die for Donald Trump and his talentless toadies?

Absolutely nobody. What you forget is that the sons and daughters of America who serve in the military have no choice. If DJT orders them into a situation where they will die for him and all his 'talentless toadies' then die they must. Quite a responsibility that has been given to a "talentless toady' don't you think. What we need is an army of Donald Trumps, who will 'charge in without any weapon to stop the bad guy killing the innocents' - :coffee1: Sad isn't it that the people of the United States would delegate all major military decisions to two draft dodgers who now sit at the top of the most powerful military machine in history. My how God has a sense of humour.

The expected waffle. Nothing said against doubting. In the linked article case, there's nothing which strongly supports an alternative version, other than the author's vague hints. Labeling it "excellent" is an affront to journalism and quality reporting. If anything, one might question why not that many doubts from the same regarding the Syrian regime's and Russia's versions. Doubt you'll apply the same "reasoning" that way as well. Some of you whinging about this sure do resist any doubts or doubting when it comes to other side.

Hmmm...,

The "sons and daughters" of America-a country for which I don't give a pinch of owl dung for either way-are volunteers. They go where they are directed.I have no desire to "thank them for their service" to extol the glories of military life,or to live in a world awash with their mawkish propaganda.

I am far more concerned that the ideology behind the mawkish propaganda will end up killing us all.

In that sense, whether you are an inhabitant of Eurasia,Eastasia or Oceania (and whatever propaganda you espouse) it will make very little difference in the long run.

For God's sake don't start posting anything that resembles the truth or there will be anarchy on the board.

Didn't know you're into far right, Trump supporting news outlets, or considering their reports as true.

Doubt any of your pointless trolling amounts to "knowing", let alone "knowing more".

It is a direct quote from "Starship Troopers"-as ironic to me now as it was in the movie.

I am perfectly content to acknowledge that the excessive amounts of propaganda now being produced means that I know "nothing" and I suggest that you don't know anything either.

On the basis of knowing "nothing" except the daily bullshit fed to me-and to you-I have no desire to kill a single man, woman or child or to contribute to the wealth of the world's arms barons in any way.

The movie was a pale shade of the book, and totally missed some of the main ideas. The following installations were even worse. Curious how Heinlein would see the current situation.

There was nothing, zero, said or applied with regard to a "desire to kill" anyone, or "contribute to" whatever.

And as for your supposed "acknowledgement", funny how that mostly translates, in effect, to rejecting one side's version.

Sorry..not into "dualism" this afternoon.

Just following the topic as it moves along..

In the words of Hermann Goering..

“Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship…"

Congratulations on your spotting the quote from Starship Troopers" (laughs)

What a surprise! Morch denigrates an award winning journalist, and the first Western journalist on the ground in post-'chemical attack' Douma. No agenda here from Morch, oh no, none at all!

My take and view of Fisk are nothing new. You're welcome to look up previous posts discussing this in detail. That you go on about "agenda" (without actually specifying what you mean by that) is kinda funny, considering you're praising Fisk - which holds a rather clear agenda of his own, with regard to issues ME.

Obviously, you have nothing of substance to comment on either the story, or my post. By the way, does the Independent count as MSM?

Morch.

I agree with your point of view.

It is perfectly obvious that anyone (me) that disagrees with the current US Gov't propaganda line is acting in a thoroughly unreasonable way-and,in the best of all possible worlds- should be dealt with in a summarily exemplary manner. After all,it must mean that they are UN-AMERICAN.

I am putting my hand up for it...I am waving from the back of the class.

This military strike will have almost zero impact on the war in Syria. It was done, why ?

Because Trump and Theresa May wanted to make it look like that they're doing something positive in Syria. Got to get the media to take attention away from the present problems that both of them have.
