Work Visa Entertainer from Ireland

Featured Replies

Hi Y'all - I am a professional singer from Ireland.  I spend (currently) 2 months a year in Thailand, predominantly based in Pattaya. I am exploring the possibility of coming to live there initially 6 months on and 6 months off and make the final move after a year or so.  I have been advised that I would need a seperate work visa per performance and per venue and need to have them with me at all times.  Does anyone have any experience or expertise in this area? Failing that, is there much call for work for an experienced Event Manager, Show Producer or sales trainer?  All my experience is in management.  Back out in Pattaya for most of May to investigate further. Help:)

Thanks - Considering setting up a thai company that "supplies" entertainment as a work around but have meetings set up when I am back nxt month.

I believe it is not possible to get a Work Permit yourself as an entertainer but rather each venue has to apply for you and provide all the documentation to support the application.  However, it is possible to set up up a company if you have the required Thai staff and other supporting things but that may not cover or allow your own gigs in each location. Thai musicians you might provide don't need any Work Permits, of course.
