Dutch Man Falls to Death at Jomtien Condo

Featured Replies

A 37-year-old Dutch man, whose name was not released, has died after falling from height at a condominium in the Jomtien area of Pattaya during the early hours of 14 March 2026, prompting a police investigation into the cause of the incident. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station were alerted to the fatal fall shortly after midnight. Authorities are now working to determine from which floor the man fell.

At around 00.10am, Police Lieutenant Anirut Jehroh, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Pattaya City Police Station, received a report that a person had fallen from height inside a high-rise condominium. He informed his superior, Police Colonel Anek Sarathongyu, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, before travelling to the scene with officers and volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rescue foundation. Emergency personnel quickly secured the area on arrival.

The incident occurred at a 31-storey condominium building including a rooftop level. The victim’s body was discovered on the fifth floor, which houses the building’s swimming pool and recreational area for residents. He was found lying on the ground with fatal injuries, including a fractured skull and broken limbs, with blood covering the floor.

Police immediately cordoned off the area and prevented unrelated individuals from approaching the scene while evidence was documented. Officers conducted an initial inspection and photographed the area as part of the investigation. Rescue personnel remained on standby as authorities continued their examination.

A condominium maintenance technician, who requested anonymity, told police he heard a loud noise resembling a vehicle crashing into a wall shortly before the discovery. Residents then reported that someone had fallen from above. When the technician went to investigate, he found the foreign man lying in a pool of blood and immediately contacted rescue services and police.

Investigators said they have not yet confirmed which unit the deceased may have been staying in or the floor from which he fell. Police plan to coordinate with the condominium’s management office to check resident records and determine whether the man was a registered guest or tenant. CCTV footage from inside the building will also be reviewed in detail.

Authorities have documented the scene and collected evidence before transferring the body to the Police General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy is expected to help determine the precise cause of death and clarify the circumstances surrounding the fall. Police say further steps will follow in accordance with legal procedures once the investigation progresses.

Officials have not yet indicated whether foul play is suspected. The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to gather information from witnesses, building management and surveillance footage.

I've lived a fortunate life and have never had to endure true despair. Great sadness, yes and the feeling of irretrievable loss when a loved one died but always knowing that as bad as I feel, it will eventually pass and I will resume my normal self.

I imagine real despair does not allow for repair and renewal, only bleak and unending misery.

I can not judge those that can not face that future.

It's a bit premature to be talking about suicide.

Very sad, hes not the first and he wont be the last, although Pattaya and Jomtien do seem to have a lot these incidents, hence the old ' Pattaya Flying Club ' legend.......

Something is not right. It's becoming regular news about only foreigners jumping or falling from buildings and ladyboys robbing tourists. Police should take serious on this matters. They must check CCTVs not only the fall but the records of previous few days.

Maybe it is just time, people get stuck, no more money, no more visa, mental health is on rise, and maybe we can blaim this one on Trump to?

A very well written article. Thank you.

Pattaya will be getting a reputation for people coming to Thailand who jump / fall to their deaths for what ever reason

RIP to the person concerned

Pattaya is indeed #1. In falls and jumps from buildings, nowhere else in the world have I seen this kind of frequency, and it really makes you wonder.

After living and staying multiple times in Pattaya, Im more surprised it doesnt happen more often, and not only in Pattaya. On the other hand, Pattaya seems like a last stop for many, and not only based on age, but physical health, mental health, money vise, no roots, and many for some reasons burning the candle from both ends there, meaning parties, drinking, women, money and also investments they never should had thought of, if there wasnt a street smart woman, or a clever business partner that showed up at a convenient time.

It is no big mystery. Nor is there a conspiracy, nor crime wave. Pattaya attracts people of certain socio economic and psychological characteristics, which predisposes them to suicide and death by misadventure. Pattaya has a large population of people who are physically inactive, smokers, financially limited, heavy drinkers, older, less educated and subject to chronic diseases. Therefore the higher incidence of suicides, deaths through misadventure, falls, disease etc. reflects this. Pattaya is also a convention town and "wilder" tourist destination, so it attracts people who are going to exploit such visitors. If 40% + of the visitor population has this demographic instead of 10%, then it is to be expected that there will be a higher negative outcome. The only effective way to reduce the incidence is to block these people from entering and staying in the country.

We had the thread a few days ago about how scuzzy Jomtien has become, 37, Dutch national..2+2=4 in this case. Only those that live there knows exactly what caused this, kushty

Fallen, well maybe he was cleaning the windows, more likely jumped or pushed as in most cases

May he rest in peace. Sad.

May I ask you to point out where the word suicide was used? I wrote of despair and at no point did I specifically apply it to this case.

"Pattaya Flying Club" would make quite an appealing film script. Florida Man is about to close a big deal, beating out unhappy competitors with careful bribes. Celebrates with a trip to Thailand: on to Pattaya! Meets a nice lady, who unbeknownst to him was invited to snuggle up by one of said business adversaries. Paint the town red, etc. Woozy return to hotel for smoochy-squishy. About to create the two-backed beast when a knock on the door interrupts the rhythm. Woman, unhappy, answers the door. "Waiter" carrying tray enters, proclaiming "Room Service" and heads for the balcony. She follows him out, shouting in Thai. Expat, pulling up trousers, is bewildered at this. Cannot think fast enough. Follows the pair out onto the balcony, where each suddenly grabs one leg and gives the old heave-ho.

Unfortunately for the two Thai citizens, a professional cameraman is shooting a zoom-in to the hotel for a glamorous commercial. Gets the acrobatics in colorful telephoto. Report? Thinks it over. It's Thailand. Duty to report? Thinks it over some more. Reluctance wins: "What is in it for me except ... big trouble?" he thinks. Nevertheless, the recording is neither deleted nor shared: someday it might come in handy.

For god sake! How many people fall to death in Thailand from a condominium or a hotel balcony? Seems to be epidemic in Thailand.

The infamous flying club going strong as ever, 37 so young, RIP fella.
