Cops called as "coconut ghosts" fight in front of the police station

Pattaya News reported that a bunch of Thai prostitutes started fighting on Beach Road just opposite the police station at 2.30 am on Thursday.

 

The news media used the term "Phee Maphraw" - literally ghosts of the coconuts - to describe the nature of the women's nocturnal activities.

 

Members of the public and tourists tried to intervene before the cops arrived and two women were fined for fighting in public.

 

Pattaya News suggested that this was damaging for the image of the resort.

 

This stock statement appears on nearly all such news stories coming out of Pattaya.

Well we were going to come to Pattaya for our family vacation but now I see 2 girls were fighting I guess we will have to go some where else...

Fighting outside police station yet need to call the Cops?

I think they should get a big pool of mud and 'wrassle' this out the old-fashioned way.

I am tired of this 'damaging for the image' BS.

 

What this crap does is reinforce the true image of Pattaya.

 

We have a crappy beach, filthy streets, open sewers, theft, corruption, and on and on.  

 

A couple of hookers having a cat fight ain't nothing.

Low season... lack of any other news?

 

Used to be fun walking down Walking Street and other Sois when the cat fights used to spill out into the streets where the ladies were in various stats of undress... but that was many years ago

Maybe fighting over the one place to sit..used to be lots of seats now only a few at the north end.

Happens every low season no customer no money 

But yes it damages the image of Pattaya as a 1 class family resort

Whenever there's a story about Pattaya police involvement there's damage to the town's reputation.
