SouthCliffe was, a bit too heavy for me. Seemed to chop and change and go back in time etc. I didn't really like it, and fell asleep during the last episode!! Which i shall watch again tomorrow, just to see the end of almost 4 hours of viewing!!!

Tonight, i went back in time and watched Zoolander. And another more recent film - American Reunion which made me giggle. And later today shall watch Bad Santa which always is good however many times you watch it.

The Bang Bang Theory is my favorite comedy series of recent times. I was not that impressed until the seconf year, but I was hooked after that.

Agreed, it took a couple of seasons and the introduction of the girls before it got it's legs. It's actually amazing to me given the propensity of US networks to kill shows, that CBS, one of the worst, actually gave it time to develop. Someone at the very top must have really liked it. Former nerd perhaps???

Bad Santa is one of my Guilty Pleasures....along with The Spice Girls (ahem)

I also agree. It had to sort it itself out the first season. From memory Leonard was the main focus of the show, with that having changed quite a lot, with Sheldon being the central character now (imo).

Do i also remember the episode when we first saw Penny, moving into the flat, both Leonard and Sheldon showing interest in her? I might be getting that wrong...

On Sheldon, the show surely has to have him and his GF consumate in some manner...a kiss or more?

Pastycat, I hate you. Your post about about Bad Santa 'forced' me to be in the middle of watching my other holiday guilty pleasure...National Lampoon Christmas Vacation.

On a trivia note, Johnny Galecki aka Leonard in the Big Bang Theory, plays Rusty Grisswold the son

I have and am still watching (it is not a movie to rush)

Of Gods and Men

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Of_Gods_and_Men_(film)

The plot centres on the Monastery of Tibhrine where nine Trappist Monks live in harmony with the largely Moslem community of Algeria until seven of them were kidnapped and assassinated during the Algerian Civil War.

Not a film to be taken lightly.

I think you have it the wrong way round. Penny showed interest in Sheldon

There is a first episode of an alternate version of Big Bang Theory that was never aired that can be downloaded. It is pretty interesting.

Hmm just watched this on Youtube. Don't it would have been half as successful with this version of Sheldon. Subtly different from the version we know and love....current Sheldon would never have porn in his sock drawer!

Gents;

Anyone watched a British series "Mad Dogs"?

I was intrigued today by the ads for it on Sky during the cricket so I blindly took a chance and downloaded the first 2 seasons (only 12 episodes I think), the first episode didn't load properly but it didn't seem to miss the gist of it by the starting from the 2nd episode.

Suffice to say it's taken a few episodes to get into it - 4 I think - but here I am, pushing to do a session to get to the 3rd season.

It's not bad really, a bit of stupidity mixed with a bit of comedy mixed with a bit if action.

Seems that Jack Sparrow's friends in Peru have kicked him out as well...

Word on the street is that he's feeling a little rasta and gone back to his roots... Now in Guyana...

EDIT: Which redirects to a scandinavian destination famous for Volvo...

Caught up with Runner Runner, starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. Not much to say about it. Standard stuff. Light and easy watching. 5/10. Here is a Trailer...

Actually looks quite decent, available via the usual sources?

Just answered my own question... Hahaha...

Will fire it up over breakfast...

8. R.I.P.D

9. Man of Steel

10. Lone Ranger

Here's my assessment of the one's I've seen:

1. After Earth - Awfull with a passion, if I hadn't bought it on itunes, wouldn't have got past the first 30 mins it was so boring

2. Sharknado - So comically bad, it's almost entered my guilty pleasure list

3. Grown Ups 2, - Not seen

4. Movie 43 - Not seen

5. Iron Man 3 - Entertaining in a teenage boy kinda way...so OK for me LOL

6. Scary Movie 5 - Not seen

7. A Good Day to Die Hard - Mediocre at best, but I was comparing it to the Die Hard's of old, especially Die Hard 3

8. R.I.P.D - Not Seen

9. Man of Steel - Ditto for Iron Man

10. Lone Ranger - Jack Sparrow in a native american costume. Nuff Said!

Recently watched the doco "Springsteen and I" which was produced by Ridley Scott.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Springsteen-I-DVD-NTSC-Bruce/dp/B00EDJ5W4S/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1387678144&sr=1-1&keywords=springsteen+and+I

I'm not a huge Springsteen fan but like a bit of his stuff. Wasn't sure how I would

feel about this one as a lot of reviews say it's for the die hard fans only.

I was pleasantly surprised though. Sure there's the obligatory nutbags, but I like Springsteen

more after watching this.

Watching him jam with a buskers in Sweden was really good. It also interviews people who have

gotten up on stage with him.

I'm giving it a 7.
