Tracking registered parcels (within Thailand)

Featured Replies

I've sent a parcel with Thailand Post using "registered mail" (long tabian) on Monday to another location in Thailand, and I got a tracking number starting with PA (Something like PA12345679TH), but when I go to http://track.thailandpost.co.th/tracking/default.aspx, it does not recognize that tracking number like it does for EMS or international registered mail parcels. Is there a different way to track such parcel? Thank you.

I have tracked registered mail on that site. Double check that you entering the correct number.

From the tracking site.

I wonder if they make a different between letters and parcels. I used registered mail for letter in the past and it started with RB, international small packets could also be tracked with RR tracking code. But this time I got a "PA" tracking number, and I shows a red cross, even before I move the slider.

This time I got an error message in English

please keys type of barcode EMS or International Parcel or REGISTER or Logis Post Only !

I was able to enter the you example number and got this after moving the slider which of course was not a valid number.

Finally I contacted Thailand Post by email.
Their answer:

Please accept our sincere apologies for this inconvenience. This item was forwarded by parcel service that normally can not track its status with online system. It spends about 5-7 working days. Please kindly keep it wait within delivery standard.

They also updated me with the status in that email with DATETIME /Scan Location /Description /Delivery Status.

So the takeaway is that parcels sent with registered post can not be tracked online,  but in case of problem you can contact them, and they can check the status in their system.

Seems odd, as I've often sent letters/parcels "long tabien" within Thailand and also abroad. Every time I've been able to track them on the Thai Post Office website.

As another poster said, there are thirteen characters in total - two letters, nine digits, followed by the two letters 'TH" for Thailand as the originator of the package.

I don't know, but would guess someone hasn't either put it in the system, or some other cock-up? I take it the tracking number was on the same printed receipt you paid for the cost of the service?

Yes, the tracking number was on the receipt as usual. I've probably sent around 100 registered parcels/letters over the years, and it's the first time I can't check it online. But usually I go with "small packets" for oversea parcels, and EMS for local parcels. I had sent "long tabian" letters in the past which I could track them online too, but it might be the first time I sent "long tabian" parcel, so that must be why. Tracking numbers I got in the past all started with "R" in the past (RA, RB, RR...), but that one starts with PA.
