Visa related travel expense tax deductible in home country?

anyone know if a usa passport holder travels to usa to apply for 1 year non o multiple entry at home country thai embassy if the expense can can be deducted on usa income tax?

Taxpayers who are looking for a new job that is in the same line of work may be able to deduct some job-hunting expenses even if no work is found.

But it may not matter even if expenses were related to a job search, ie., cost of visa, travel. Taxpayers can only claim the amount of expenses that is more than 2% of their adjusted gross income. Even then there are other limitations.
