I observed this one in Chiang Rai, and the owner told me it was built in Roi Et, these wooden houses must be maintained well to avoid issues. To get one that's got enough space to live in costs big bucks.

Some are big bucks because there's some-kinda of special thing about old Teak wood and obtaining it is difficult and unless old Teak wood it's not that good but maintenance period care will keep them in good condition.

The cheaper wood house are probably made from I guess Pine or Eucalyptus trees easily obtained hence the price, pre-treatment would be the main thing before construction and ongoing maintenance to keep in check.

Not me now but the basics if I'm to get someone to knock up house for me it would be concrete posts, steel roof structure, roof cover optional, obviously doors and windows and the lookalike wood planks manufactured from reclaimed hardwood and polymer from recycled polyethylene to cover a concrete panel floor and walls..
