Anyone have any idea why my Krungsri Bank card ony works in random stores?.. Took it back to my branch and they say it is fine?...Works in all ATM's....But not Big C Klang but OK in other Big C's...and how not in The Villa on 2nd road?.....

Frustrating!!!!..any ideas?

No, none.

If it is a chip card maybe the merchants do not have reader or know how to use?  A random occurrence will be one Bank system not accepting a card but another accepting (different readers at merchants using different bank clearance systems).  You might be able to go to a different register and it will work.  

Could it be something to do with the payment limit your card is set at? My Krungsri card has a limit that has to be set on a totally different website to their online banking site. Very counter-intuitive. If the limit is set too low it just fails, regardless of how much money is in the account.

I fooled about with this for ages when I tried to sign up to Spotify here, before finally working out what the problem was.

I have a feeling you may be right.. Someone also suggested that because it is a new card and uses a 6 diget pin, that the system at Big C does not recognise it BUT you may be correct in what you say as they refused it downstairs but it worked upstairs?... But the bank are adamant there is nothing wrong with the card...Very confusing and embarrassing!... Thanks got your opinion and help..

Thanks but the amounts have been small (ish).... and it will work in other stores regardless of the amount...the only thing it may be is that it is a new 6 diget pin card and not all card readers recognise it... Big C have no idea and do not feel the need to investigate it, so it's Tescos for me!!??
