30K was an English teacher's basic salary 20 years ago, stay with the times.

Like I've always said, dwellers love to point the finger at others to raise their self esteem. Ironically, most of them couldn't even be a teacher if they wanted due to lack of tertiary education. Just remember 3 fingers are pointing back at you.

Give you the first story to pop up, just one example around USA. Florida newspaper investigated police practices. Under Florida Contriband Seizure Act assets can be seized and kept by police for any suspected felony, even if charges are never filed. In my experience, people are happy and even proud to be living in that sh1thole for a few months until the reality sinks in.

I personally believe some like our 72 year old friend who find Pattaya later in life, have led a somewhat sheltered life, haven't travelled, and only slept with 2 shielas then got married for 40 years come to Pattaya and think all their Christmas have come at once because suddenly sex is easy to come buy (pun intended). Nowt wrong with it but no need to get all catty and defensive when people call you on the fact that you live in a shithole that is primarily based around the sex industry. Cue all the posters from the Pattaya forum to tell me that Pattaya is a family destination an arts and cultural centre with fantastic beaches where you hardly even know the bars are there! Hahahaha

Why is it you flips keep harping on like the only 2 options are Pattaya or the sticks? I am assuming it is because that's where all your peers end up when they shack up with their bar girl "wife" and your afraid you may end up their some day. A lot more to Thailand than Pattaya and deep Isaan champ. By the way Tesco Lotus Makro and all that other stuff you described including caviar has been up in the "sticks" for over a decade.

no, neither thais nor americans even know what caviar is,

and i havnt come across a single thai that likes it,

and the seller require a minimum customer base to sell it,

so, no, only ever in a tourist heavy location can you find caviar,

caviar in the sticks only in your feverish fantasy,
