  • While there is a law regarding cruelty to animals, a one-time kick that did not injure the dog is nto going to qualify. Let it go, and in future don't let your dog approach strangers.

Not saying this is the case here - but many dog owners seem to feel that everyone else needs to adjust their actions (and tolerance to noise) just because of their hobby.   Except for guide

no, my dog is absolutely friendly.

Thailand has quite a draconian new(ish) animal cruelty law  with punishment harsher than for kicking a human in the head...you could cause this tourist quite a bit of trouble.

If the dog is "absolutely friendly" why would anyone want to kick it ?

Sorry I can't reference a law for you but I can definitely say a natural trait of a Yorkshire terrier  is to be highly territorial.

Dogs are usually friendly to owners/masters but may not be so with all others.

Do you  always keep your dog on a leash when away from your property.

Where did the biting take place?

"Thailand had no specific legislation for acts of cruelty to animals. There is a minor criminal code under which cruelty to animals is punishable by a maximum one month in prison and a 1,000 baht fine. But the code does not clarify what cruelty is, and was never enforced."

Clear as mud.

Unless you are tracking the tourist and also have a few witnesses I would forget it. I reckon if a cop saw it it would be forgotten anyhooo...

If some tourist kicked my dog, I'd kick him back in the 'nads!

And, assuming that your user name reflects your gender, if the tourists tries anything to you in return, smile sweetly and go find a cop for a sexual assault charge.

People who harm animals deserve whatever bad thing that happens to them in return...

this was my first aspiration (to kick), after Ive seen it. And I CAN do this, But the fights will not help to decide this problem. I just need to know what I can do by law first.

You would probably end up in more trouble than the dog kicker if a tourist made a complaint....

not injured of course. I would have broken his leg in another case.

But I want to know for the future.

I would find a bucket or at least a bottle of water and pour it over him .. that's non--violent ( songkran )  and if ever he becomes violent , film him and call police ...

Some people don't like dogs. Some people are afraid of dogs.

You don't give all that many details on what exactly happened, so hard to form an opinion.

If it's a tourist, and a one-time thing, plus the dog not getting hurt - a bit on the futile side following this.

If you think this could come again, then maybe something that's related to your dog's behavior, or the way you handle/control it in public.

Thank you but I didnt ask any opinion. I asked about the law.

And once again: my dog didnt do any wrong. I know public rules. ?

I think you should reflect on how silly this is. The dog is over it. You are only trying to assuage your own injured sensibilities.
