BANGKOK, 4 June 2018 (NNT) – Government House is hosting a seminar on water management on Monday while introducing other projects to improve the country’s water management capacity.

In his national televised address this week, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said the Office of the National Water Resources will host a seminar at Santi Maitri Building to discuss water related operations during the past four years and measures to attain water sustainability.

The prime minister says that efficiency in water management contributes to the growth of Thailand and the establishment of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), consequently building trust and confidence among Thai and foreign investors.

Gen Prayut pointed out his administration has already endorsed a total of 216 water projects worth 4 billion baht, increasing water supplies by 27 million cubic meters and covering 900,000 rai of farming and residential land, adding that 3,000 more projects are being reviewed by responsible committees.

Reminds one of the old story about the guy who was asked why he didn't fix the roof of his house.

"Well I can't do it now because it's raining...and in another six months it will stop raining so there won't be any need.
