Clean and ready for tourists! Bang Saen show how to clean up the trash

Pictures posted by Thai Rath showed the before and after at popular resort Bang Saen in Chonburi.

The before was the all too familiar scene of mountains of trash blown in off the sea with a municipal authority figure in the foreground.

The after was a clean beach ready for tourists.

Thai Rath said that the Saen Suk authority are making sure that tourism can continue unabated by doing no less than three daily clean ups on their 5 kilometer stretch of sand.

See? not so hard right, so now go and tell the officials in other beach cities.

Yay! And now Bang Saen can show Thailand how to not leave trash in the first place.

The sad truth is that the water quality along the beach will still be far from satisfactory for safe swimming, but good work on cleaning up the trash ?

At least they are making an effort, more than can be said of Pattaya.

Cleaned above water line. How about below water line?

The in the face garbage, smell and dirt problems, piles of rubbish wherever you turn your eye, are one of the main causes for a less and less quality Westerners. Who wants to vacation in such a place. The negative headlines about TH in the press around the world are unprecedented for such a prime tourist destination. Pretty much every visiting friend of mine has reduced his vacation time here or stopped coming all together. TH will not change, as the vacuum is more then filled by Chinese, Indians etc.

Pity for the once beautiful Los. MS>

You are right about Chinese.Indians etc filling the gap. They are used to rats all over the place and garbage evry where so will be very acceptable to them. Thailand needs to do little to keep them coming. As  long as the money keeps coming nothing is wrong as far as Thai's are concerned. Pollution is part of life right.

Out if sight out of mind.

3 clean ups a day, that's good going, if they keep it up. Don't knock them, they are making the effort which is a damn sight more than the junta installed Muppets in City Hall.

Maybe it will shame them into some action.

Another junta hater sorry but it's the Thai people not the junta there makes Thailand looking so dirty and it had been going on for decades

So, the fact that the sewage works are cream crackered, or that they failed to renew a rubbish (trash) collection contract leaving piles of stinking rubbish on the sides of the road and countless other failures that I've lost count of or can't remember is junta bashing is it ?

I know that the Thais screw up the country, I'm not stupid, but city hall has a responsibility to make sure that infrastructure and associated contracts like cleaning the beach, ensuring an adequate supply of rubbish bins in public spaces and that they get emptied regularly, that fecal matter is not dumped straight into the bay due to the lack of infrastructure.

These guys couldn't run a bath let alone run a city as complex as Pattaya.
