connda
<Smile> Mai Ow Naa Krap. This is it in a nutshell. Short, sweet, and effective. The smile keeps it friendly. The 'Mai Ow' is saying you don't want wherever they are selling, peddling, or whatever the reason is that they are trying to engage you in conversation. "Naa" makes the rejection very polite, as does formally ending with a "Krap" or "Ka" If they keeping trying to engage you, keep repeating the phrase while smiling, breaking eye contact and walking away. BuckleUp
Too much "pai nai" and "gin mai"? A quick answer of "kap barn' and "im lao" should finish the conversation before it goes too far.
Bung
The OP sounds like a miserable bugger. Why not make eye contact, smile, reply to your host's genial enquiries, share a joke, complain about the weather, it's just small talk, make a little effort to understand these most basic language skills, use hand signals if you must. You will be amazed at how much better your day will become.
