PM is featured on cover page of Time magazine’s Asia edition for July

 

 

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will be featured on the cover page of Time magazine’s Asia edition for the first fortnight July to be available on July 2.

 

The cover page carries headline: “Democrat.  Dictator.  Which path will Thailand’s Prayuth Chan-o-cha choose?”

 

The magazine features a cover story, entitled “Thailand’s Leader Promised to Restore Democracy.  Instead, He’s Tightening His Grip”, by Charlie Campbell, Beijing correspondent for the magazine.

sums it up nicely; might need mention the crap that this leader says; recall when he seemingly honestly questioned why thai people want democracy ? that is how he truly thinks: 'i know what is best for the thai people, not them'

All one needs do is look at his track record.

This will build his ego up seeing himself on the cover ! All the more reason for him to remain the one man band the others are only there to nod and agree with him !

Wonder what his reaction will be. Despite having a massive ego boost for making the cover of time, the calling out of his autocratic reign will surely put more pressure on him to come clean on his intentions, and deal with the consequences.

I agree. He'll be as mad as a cut snake when he sees that. He looks every bit the image of a young Chairman Mao.

That's the first thing that came to mind when I read the word Dictator with a picture of Prayut. Cue faux outrage damaging his "Reputation"

This could really blow his mind...... Being on the cover of Time magazine..... really cool..... being referred to as a 'Dictator'.... not cool.... To ban publication in Thailand or not to ban publication in Thailand...... that is the question.

Well, that picture captures all sorts of angles to his character....like smug, sneering, supercilious, superiority complex, dismissive, contemptuous, indifferent and on and on.  

 

Pay no attention whatever to what he says - he's borderline incoherent on his best days.

 

Pay attention to what he does.

I think it will be the rankest hypocrisy if we are not allowed now to use that forbidden D word.

 

If it is so objectionable, why are Thaivisa putting up a big picture with that word on it in reference to Prayut? You can't run with the hare and hunt with the hounds. Make up your mind! 

Good luck with that! FEER already had a field day with Thailand leadership some 20+ years ago ......
