A clampdown launched by the police against mediums

The very fact that it's got to the point where the police have to clamp down on out-of-control mediums and fortune tellers etc. really is ridiculous and indicative of the state of many people's minds here. Self-appointed psychics and sooth-sayers really shouldn't be on the "To do" list of the police....haha, give me a break.

Worldwide there are thousands of people employed in this business.

Many claim a direct line to someone called God. Nobody has ever seen this figure called God but those claiming to know God personally often ask for contributions from naive folk who are convinced God exists.

The whole thing is out of control.

  • Never work, the mediums will "see" the cops coming.

  • Its  ok Im a large   That aside people believing in this  rubbish are right up there with religious  folk as it has the same "exactly"  amount of credibility

  • This country would be a lot better off without these criminals.   I'm not talking about the mediums.

Ah,yes, but it is what the mediums might " predict" that is the real issue.

Roman emperors had the same problem with astrologers, soothsayers, liver readers and such like.

So did Elizabeth 1 of England.Being "predictive" can land you in a whole world of grief in a not too modern Asian society.

I recall some years ago the wife of newly elected Gen Chavalit consulting a medium before redecorating his new office bright pink at great expense.

When will there be a nationwide clampdown on amulets?

If they do, will they flatten them with a hammer - or do they need the 'vice' squad to do that?

What about the Frog Prince of Fairy Tales who brings wealth and happiness to Thai country folk. Is he to be banned also. Surely not.

Eaten. Look at those legs. She isn't impressed with him touching her tea.

You can't see the old biddy's legs in that photo.

Nah, he's just tenderising it for her - to make sure it slips down the gullet easier after she's gummed it without her teeth in.

About time they clamped down on the XXXXLs too:

I predict nothing will change.

The red license plate crisis from last week has been usurped by a "witch hunt" for fortune tellers.   ?

Far more scrutiny, in whatever form, is needed when corporate interests, foreign money and politics collide. Its not the mediums, they just organise the money for off shore accounts.

They'll never catch them as the mediums can see them coming.

Might catch a few thousand fakes, though.

At least one yank first lady caught doing so, too -

You mean through their crystal balls?

Bluesofa, stop reading my mind.

However, do you know why mediums, gypsies and " Funny Folk " have glass balls, or crystal balls?

555 and the answer is, so that they can see when they cumming...

There is always a bit of medium in all of us, yes, call it intuition, sixth sense, butterflies in the tummy or just listening to their gut feelings.

Thought for food, when a human fetus is formed in the womb, the anus develops first, then its lungs last. Fact, saw it in the policemans crystal balls... Streuth me honour.

"

But here's what science says: babies start as an anus (really), and end by developing lungs. When - and how - body parts grow in between is a long and fascinating process.
Anus
Anus is listed (or ranked) 1 on the list In What Order Do Your Body Parts Develop In The Womb?

Believe it or not, all human beings start out as tiny anuses. In the first few weeks after fertilization, you're nothing more than a small group of cells, called a blastula. This blastula bursts open from the inside out, making a little bitty opening. This opening is called a blastopore, and it is the first of your proto-organs to begin forming. While that may sound like a pretty fancy word, the blastopore is actually just a miniscule anus. The rest of your body develops from there.

All mediums play on the upon the gullible.

Not most, all.

Can't argue, but like PT Barnum said: "A sucker is born every minute".  Other countries have mediums.  Temple street in Hong Kong is full of them.  Even animals tell your fortunes.  In my youth, the birds, at times, were very kind to me if only I were sober enough to remember their predictions.  I don't trust the white one.  He's lazy.top-tourist-attractions-Hong-Kong.jpg

If they claim affiliations that are untrue, they should be held accountable, but to stamp out the whimsicalness, is sort ruining a bit of fun.  There are machines that predict fortunes to for five baht at train stations.  I guess the junta worries about a bit of clairvoyance in the time coming up to elections.  This speaks to the lack of education as well.

So we can only assume that a clampdown is on the way for amulet sellers because that is right up there with attempting to connect to 'the other side' by channeling a monk engraved on a chunk of plaster which is the same hockus-pockus as mediums.  And then Tarot readers.

The beautiful thing about being in power is - Power.  And what good is Power if you can't wield it.  And who's best to keep 'under the thumb' than the pesky 'little people', so if the 'little people' enjoy something, make it illegal.  Now that's Power!

That's ok I'm an Extra Large

What did the frog tell him? Frogg off, dude.

I love the youngish lady on the right. She seems to be Khmer and doesn't speak, or understand him anyways.  ( Which is much better!)

Do fortune tellers lie?

Why go to mediums? The same  "you have a lucky face " fakir is available for free near  Au Bon Pain on Suk Soi 11 nearly every morning.

For lottery numbers ask a monitor lizard.
