White House press secretary says asked to leave restaurant for working for Trump

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said on Saturday that she had been asked to leave a Virginia restaurant the night before because she worked for President Donald Trump.

"Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left," Sanders said on the official Press Secretary Twitter account.

"Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so," Sanders said.

The Red Hen could not immediately be reached and their website did not appear to be working. A number of people criticized the restaurant for the move on the it's Yelp page.

Earlier this week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was confronted by protesters at a Mexican restaurant in Washington D.C. Protesters yelled "Shame! Shame!" and it came as the Trump administration defended its hardline immigration policy at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Nielsen decided to leave the restaurant.

Why anyone would attend any of these prese conferences is beyond me, she never answers any questions truthfully.

If indeed this happen (who believes anything she says) , she was treated with the same respect she treats the American people.

Never liked that woman, but families should never be dragged into a fight and they all had a right to eat in peace.

The current fight about separation of families at the border is ironic, innit? ?

Wow, Americans Love The Donald,,, don't they?  Guess the love for his staff is a different

beast. Apple Pie, 2nd Amendment, Guns for all attitude,  and dam, all those school shootings.

Good Luck with your future America, oh and do you still have those houses for sale,  nothing down

and foreclosure in a year policies in your banks?

Just wondering

Geezer

In principle I agree with you.

In her case I am very ambivalent though, she is imo not just an employee, she is responsible for selling Trump's actions and policies, and frequently veers from the truth with that.

Regarding 'right to eat', that is still under the courts, but Trump opinion is that vendors have the right to refuse customers.

If people in the Trump states have the right to refuse service to gays, then people have the right to refuse service to liars. After all, one is a commandment in the bible and one is not, so you can't get away with using a biblical excuse. 'Thou shalt not bear false witness".

Treat people with respect by lying to them?

If she had any integrity she would resign.

The intolerant left have finally slid into full on fascism. This is disgusting, unfortunately there is no real way to deal with their hate. In a fair world the democrats would be banned from politics for a decade, until they learn to respect democratic elections. And fake media (such as Time magazine with their recent nonsense hate mongering cover, and CNN that won many of Trumps fake news awards) would be immediately shut down.

I had thought this sort of hate crime would happen after the horrific media coverage of all things Trump, while totally ignoring the fact he is acting in our best interests. His gargantuan achievements like bringing peace to the Korean peninsula, helping the poor get back into the workforce, and tackling fair trade are glossed over, leading to certain gullible sectors of the population going crazy without fully understanding why.

Perhaps you have missed the case of the Denver baker who refused to bake a wedding cake because it was for a same sex wedding.

If a baker can refuse to serve someone because of the religious belief against homosexuality, why shouldn't someone have the same right to not serve someone because they are liars?

As pointed out  Lying it is prohibited in the 10 commandments where homosexuality is not.

  • Popular Post

Well, it couldn't happen to a more deserving person.

As far as the wedding cake analogy, it's really not quite the same.   Those people couldn't change the fact that they are gay.   She, however, can decide to quit lying and change her political stance on things.

But it's probably best they left, I heard they were all out possum and squirrel on the menu anyway.

I completely done with conversations about "liars" , its getting absurd now , I just seem to talk about whether people are liars or not .

I need to get some fresh air

It is quite astonishing that she chose to name the restaurant at a media conference. They hardly had a right of reply at that particular moment, did they?

  • Popular Post

The media has created massive cognitive dissonance. So many frothy, brainwashed, pitchfork wavers. In the meantime their president is the best they've had in decades. People really need to switch off the mainstream media. It's only propaganda these days.

Now maybe now this “good” Christian can fathom the feeling of being told to go somewhere else if you want a wedding cake... :coffee1:

I don't understand why you would be offended? the fact that she lies for the president is undisputed, a simple google search will show the list of lies she has told and what the truth was. And it is not like she did not know she was lying at the time, she is certainly not that dumb.

or why you don't understand why people would be upset about being lied to (i am sure you don't like being lied to) and would react negatively toward people that lie to them.

He has certainly divided the Mexicans; no doubt about that. Not before time some might say.

Adios mexicano.

Red Hen is demonstrating just another liberal case of TDS. Nothing really special here.

The only interesting part of this is what happens to the Red Hen. I mean when Trump supporters stop eat at Red Hen.  Do they really think those limousine liberals would be caught dead eating their greasy chicken?

Obviously the Red Hen was looking for free publicity and got it.

Lets investigate  them to see how much they pay their American staff.( undocumented migrants maybe)  Two dollars an hour + tips???

Australian  hospitality staff earn 20 -35 an hour + tips.

nut job democrats/left-wing weirdos. they scream tolerance yet show no example of it. their hateful acts will be their undoing.

The burning question is:

Where did she go to sate her appetite and slake her thirst? Or did she have to call Domino's for a buy-two-get-one-free delivery?

Try having a good cry it will make you feel better. Intolerance against intolerance is a virtue.

My uninformed guess is she has Domino's on speed dial. Same for Chick Fi A.

The only intolerance I see these days comes from the left. But I still tolerate their right to express their opinions. Intolerance of ideas is never a virtue

What idea is not being tolerated here?
