Recommendations for a quiet beach at Phuket
Most Welcome Anything else, don't be shy, though haven't been there in almost 2 years, as stated getting very crowded again. Although that was Kata Beach area that we popped down for the day at. Last few times we were there, we stayed at Secret Ciff Resort @ Karon, and sits atop a the hill between Patong & Karon Beaches. Not sure if mislabeled on Gmaps, or they also own the property on the other side of road. We stayed on surfside of the road. Nice place to chill, and good brekkie with view from restaurant. Once again, early Covid (4 yrs ago), though stayed there <2yrs ago. -

Thais vs White people
Simple... Thailand: corruption, lack of safety, lack of protection and accountability, cheap The West: a lot less corruption, far safer, a lot more protection and accountability, expensive It's quite simply about the pros and cons of each. You cannot have a chilled out, cheap and fun society while following millions of strict laws and constantly stressing about everything you do. Equally, you cannot have a very functional society where rules are followed to the letter and strict standards are kept while having fun all the time. As a foreigner, with foreign money and other benefits, you have a false idea of what Thailand is really like. You have a closer idea of what Thailand is like for the wealthy elite. If you had to live more like a regular Thai, were disabled, or were the victim of some sort of horrific crime or industrial accident, you would probably feel differently. -

Ours won't go lower than 18. My wife would probably set it to 16 if it went that low. -

Will apply working visa cancel my DTV completely?
Just got my DTV approved. Well, I had elite Visa, and applied non-B with work permit no issue, and elite Visa not cancelled. After one year, although I had great accomplishment, but boss didn't wanna comtinue my contract/WP due to personal difference. And I could still use my elite Visa no problemo! Eg. when I had elite Visa, depite I don't like its inferior price-to-value, but it served as reliable backup -- as long as I have elite membership & multi-entry sticker intact, I mostly don't worry about application nor policy uncertainty. ---- Now, would DTV serve same purpose? If I apply non-B working visa and WP, would that affect DTV in bad way? Need your input; appreciated 🙏
