Popular Post vogie
A Prime Minister who obtains the blessing of Chancellor Angela Merkeland the EU to negotiate against her own cabinet ministers and elected members, and who courts the votes of Labour and even SNP MPs to get her agreement into law, is no longer worthy of office. The only chance to prevent this catastrophe becoming another Suez is, like in 1940, to change Prime Minister – for in doing so a lesson will be learned that the British people are not to be so betrayed for the worthless cause of party unity. http://www.cityam.com/289062/number-10-downing-street-no-place-brexit-betrayer 4

I believe that every household was expected to have a copy, not having one was perhaps a foolish omission. Certainly every newly wed couple was presented with one as a wedding present by the state! Both could perhaps be regarded as a government publication whose relevance was overtaken by events. If we really stretch the metaphor, always entertaining, one might observe that both authors came fatally (politically) unstuck. Mind you Mr Cameron's successor has lasted rather longer than Grand Admiral Doenitz!? Edited July 11, 2018 by JAG

Popular Post tebee
So now it doesn't matter if Brexit is a really bad idea - we have to do it anyway ? This seems a really bad argument to me - people were told Brexit had a considerable up side - now even if we were lied to when we made the decision, we are not allowed to change our minds ? Trying to persuade people that we shouldn't go through with it isn't what's going to damage our democracy - the attempt to close down debate - coupled with the inevitable shock when people discover Brexit isn’t what they were sold - will do far more damage to our politics than anything else we do from here on in. 2 5

Jacob Rees-Mogg, who leads the European Research Group of Brexiteer Tory MPs, is tabling amendments to a bill that would challenge the plan. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/may-faces-rebellion-from-two-sides-after-brexit-compromise-rlrbj7qv2 In a further damning piece Quote Hardline Tory Brexiters plan to try to force Theresa May to publish a rival draft of the white paper drawn up by David Davis in the run-up to last week’s Chequers summit, which Downing Street ditched. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/jul/11/brexiters-bid-to-force-release-of-david-davis-rival-white-paper If the claims made in the Guardian article are true, I would suggest that it is time for Taxi for May.

As at now the government is stocking up on (unhealthy) processed foods, in the event of a 'no-deal' resulting in a blockade of vehicles stranded at British ports.
