A few tidbits for those who don't understand Thai.  The group had gone past the Pattaya Beach cavern by about 400 meters to a room that was even higher.  They could get a little rainwater but had to climb up for it.  Apparently, the current plan is to feed them and give them some strength before determining how next to proceed with getting them out.  In perhaps another 4 hours we'll hear more about the rescuers' collective decision on this, according to the governor.

There will be some serious tambooning tomorrow...?

Everyone who went into that cave on a rescue mission into dark wet areas not knowing what they would find deserves a medal. Kudos to you all.

That's  made my day! They have been in my thoughts since the story unfolded last week, very happy for the families and a big well done to the rescuers !

This is a day that I will never forget. Thank you to everyone involved for restoring some faith in humanity and confirming that teamwork across the nations can overcome the greatest of odds.

Today for me was an anniversary of sorts; 44 years ago I joined the British Armed Forces as a junior seaman in the Royal Navy. From now on this day will be thought of as one of joy, instead of the living nightmare that it was back in the day..........................

Brilliant news, just what the nation and millions more have been waiting for. A Doctor and food are being sent in now and more water needs to be pumped out before they can be extracted. Rain is due and hopefully it will not cause too many problems. There will be some very very relieved parents at this moment.

 

Congratulations and more are needed to every single person that helped/assisted in this rescue. 

 

And, a massive massive relief to the parents and families who have had to endure over eight days of waiting, worrying, frustration and not knowing what the outcome would be. 

 

I'm not sure if I could have survived such circumstances. Well done to the boys and their coach.

Pleasing news but i bet that coach bloke  will get a mixed reception! when he surfaces..... i would not like to be in his flip flops! 

brilliant stuff, the assistant coach obviously took control of the situation, knew the caves well enough to keep them safe and has managed to get them to hold it together. Organizing the drinking of rain water and going to the higher cave has paid off for them, bloody great news, very huge relief

I thought about that, he may well end up to be a "hero" also? we will see.............. There was someone who was/became a "leader", be interesting to see if it was him or one of the "kids"

if they are traumatized they can be treated

and maybe it will give them incredible strength in the future

might even be seen as a chance for spiritual and personal growth
