Dmaxdan
I'm not ashamed to admit that I've shed a few tears of happiness this morning. The relief those lads and their families must be feeling is incalculable. Hats off to all involved and now let's get them out as quickly and safely as possible.Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect 1

Popular Post Eligius
I am amazed by the resilience of these brave young kids. I would have expected - if anything - that they would be lying down utterly depleted and almost beyond help. But watching the video we see that their spirit has not been broken. Incredible! I think like most of us, it is difficult to express the happiness we feel over this - and our admiration for the bravery of all concerned. 4

An excellent job done, WELL DONE EVERYONE INVOLVED !!
Popular Post Zack61
Good news for sure. I got goose bumps when I saw it and what little hair I have on my head stood up. Hoping reunification with family goes off without too many dramas. Congratulations all round. This incident has put this place on the map for sure. Get ready for the tourist hoardes after the rainy season.

You can be darn proud of your people for how this operation was performed to great success. And proud that experts from so many nations were called to help/or that Thailand accepted their offer of help. The world has been watching. This is a great day for Thailand.

I am too very surprised ( and happy ) by their " shape "; I was expecting too that they were in apparent very bad condition but they are young and sporty ( we have seen pictures of bicycles ), not full of Mac Donald and Coca cola Congratulations, young boys ( I don't forget also people who help to find them )

Popular Post SplitInfinitive
From an international news source. The British Cave Rescue Council, which has sent divers to help with the rescue operation, has released a statement describing the logistical difficulties of rescuing the boys and their coach. Vice chair of the British Cave Rescue Council, Bill Whitehouse said the rescue mission has been made more difficult because there is likely only going to be a short break in the monsoon rains and because of the small space the group are in, which makes drilling difficult. Whitehouse also estimated that the boys are around 2km into the cave and somewhere between 800 m to 1km below the surface. He cautioned that diving conditions remained “very difficult”. Here is Whitehouse’s full statement: Around 16:30h this afternoon, we started to receive the remarkable news that all 12 of the boys and their coach had been located in a dry air space south of the Pattaya Beach area of Tham Luang Nang Non Cave. It is estimated that they are around 200 m south of that underground landmark. Shortly after this news, we received a direct (but short confirmation) from our British cave divers of the joyful news that the lost boys had been located alive. Video footage of the boys and their coach has now been released and shown to families waiting on the surface. Two British, volunteer cave divers found the boys at their current location, but the last 36 hours have seen a coordinated and planned approach to the rescue being led by the Thai Military and involving many other nations (including the USA, Chinese, Australians and others). Equipment and air supplies have been ferried in to the system over the last day or so, enabling the divers to progress further in to the system than was previously possible. Diving lines have been laid to the boys’ location for other divers to follow with essential food, comforts and medical supplies. We believe that there is only a short break in the monsoon and all feasible options for the rescue of the boys are being considered. Although water levels have dropped, the diving conditions remain difficult and any attempt to dive the boys and their coach out will not be taken lightly because there are significant technical challenges and risks to consider. It is estimated that the boys are around 2 km into the cave and somewhere between 800 m to 1km below the surface. They are also located in a relatively small space and this would make any potential drilling attempt as a means of rescue very difficult. Back here in the UK, there is an assessment of electronic equipment that may be suitable to pin-point the underground location of the boys and coach with a greater degree of accuracy than the published surveys. The necessary equipment will be sent to Thailand if electronic experts agree on the feasibility that it will operate over such depths. overherebc
This is the ideal time to start moving all the media reps' and reporters out of the immediate area and leave the rescuers free to get on with it. One conference a day with them in an area well away from the cave entrance. One report a day is all they need and all they should get. 1 1

That's a little premature as they're still trapped underground in a cave that is likely to flood when the heavy rains come. Getting them out is going to be very difficult.Sent from my SM-G930F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

According to the video transcription in Post 42, the team that found them was from " ... the navy". The blokes first on the scene weren't interested in nationalistic kudos so why should any of us not directly involved be waving our national flags either? Just an excellent effort from all involved in finding them and with the eventual outcome we all hope for - that they're returned to the surface safely. Lumbini
Looks like 2 of the 3 man British team found them in the end. Nice to see after they got so many derisory comments on here when they first arrived. I'm sure that they could not have done it without all the other teams that contributed though.well said and I hope those guys are on the front page of all the papers and news stories today [emoji106] Looks like the BBC got the details right [emoji652]️ BBC News After nine days of darkness, the 12 trapped Thai boys and their coach have been found.
