kickstart
My just dreaming ,from the late 70's Laverda Jota. If I remember right, the Police in Libya at the time used Jota's lucky police, and at the same time Police in Saudi where using modified Triumph Trident unlucky police. ballpoint
Another motorcycling legend passed away last month. Ralph Hudson, who broke the world semi streamlined record in 2017 with an average speed of 284mph over three runs on the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia - including a top speed of 300mph, died following a crash at Bonneville while doing 252mph. He was 69 years old. A hero. RIP.

Another ring-dinger 3 pot 2 stroke in 4 wheels was the 60/70's East German Wartburg 353 .. these were surprisingly good cars if very basic and a little quirky being a 2 stroke .. note the shaft back across the top of the engine to drive the rear mounted rad fan .. You would have got extra points for Serb 96 with a 2-stroke engine, many years ago I think it was the BMF bike show at Peterborough, someone dropped one of these engines in to a Norton Featherbed frame ,made a good job to. Justgrazing
I have looked but can't find photo's of a bike fitted with the Saab engine but it did reveal the Monster made late 50's by Saab themselves that had two of those engines side by side .. looking at it no surprise it didn't really progress .. kickstart
. BUILDING THE AJS V4 RACER The road-going version of the V4 didn’t get a green light for production, it’s not known why exactly but it likely had something to do with the fact that it would have been exceedingly expensive, and the world was still very much in the grips of the austerity period of the Great Depression. In 1936 a new racing version of the AJS V4 was unveiled, it had alloy barrels and individual heads with exposed hairpin valve springs, a common crankcase, a 180° crankshaft with forked conrods, a single overhead cam per cylinder, a Zoller supercharger, an Amal TT carburetor, and a 5-speed Burman transmission. This bike is a modern re-make of the original non of the original's exist now ,made by a Canadian guy ,from just a few black and white photos ,smart guy . Yea it unashamedly mimicked a BSA but then Japan in the first decade after WW2 could do little else but copy other nationalities offerings .. Yamaha's first bike YA1 was a fairly blatant copy of DKW's prewar RT125 same as Tohatsu's 125 up a couple of pages back .. The Meguro is very rare now reflected in the price if one ever becomes available ..
