Hat Yai police stormed into a house to save a three-year-old girl from her father, who threatened to hang her and himself in a Facebook Live broadcast on Tuesday night.

Police broke into a locked house on Soi Plukwa 1 in the downtown of Hat Yai district in Songkhla after being alerted by the father’s relatives.

In the half-hour broadcast, the former Army sergeant, age 32, lamented his wife’s demand for a divorce. He threatened to kill their daughter and himself if his estranged wife did not come to meet him by 8pm on Tuesday.

The man showed two ropes with nooses hanging to the second-floor walkway next to the stairway above the living room.

His friends and relatives called his wife and police.

Police took the girl and the man to the police station and later handed the girl over to relatives to take care for. The mother told police she would later take care of her daughter when she is able.

Well hopefully they offer the mle some mental health support too. Rather a facebook threat than a full on murder/suicide.
