I was using bing, not google, as I said. And I don't think I've given them any indication I'd ever be interested in a penis pump (I'm not, and I've never searched for that).

Nothing to be ashamed of Jerry. Some of my best friends still use Bing.

Seriously though, you have to watch your searches and these algorithms. You wouldn’t want to innocently search for “Young boys finally coming out in Thailand” after just searching for “Gay bars in Bangkok” for example.

Lol, I set the browser search bar to bing expressly because I didn't want google to get my query data, since they already have my email. I spent seven of the unhappiest years of my career working for Microsoft (but not in search).

Proven and tested equipment

Proven and tested alone are not enough. We are talking about weak kids who can't swim. Experts in the field who have listened to the approach are horrified by it.

do you know...And explain how you can

There are experts working on it that are miles ahead of you in considering these things. Listen to them, not me. I am no mister know it all, but I do know how to defer to the judgement of others when warranted.

how many people they need to operate that sub? How many more people are you willing to put on risk?

There are many brave people in this world who if called upon could safely escort these kids out they'd give their lives to try to do just that. That is what we are talking about. Safe passage for the kids.

put the whole rescue operation on hold for such a new device

When it's just hours away. More like "let's hurry up and do this now before we get shown up".

You just trying to make a fight with me

No. Just saying I fail to see how you have offered anything useful to the discussion.

contribute with nothing else than you read in some crappy newsfeed.

You might be the only one that doesn't see the irony in you being annoyed that I posted information on what Elon is doing in a subject exploring what Elon is doing.

I read about pockets on the sub you can put waights?

There's a bit about it in the sketch.

If it was a sub, you would have ballast chambers for filling water making it even more complexed to operate!

Off you go again.

No offenses here at all, just don't get what you are about here.

Well, we don't know what the outcome will be of the daring and very risky rescue attempts going on right now.

The authorities feel they have run out of time. Now or never.

Everyone hopes for the best.

As far as Musk, he seems to have some good ideas, but now it seems TOO LATE.

Too bad he didn't show up earlier.

Highly controversial task

2 fried eggs for breakfast kai jiew. Seeing all the garb posted here, the kind one can find in puk num on sunday morning, i wonder if they will stay where they are.

- Elon has heart and did what he could - hats down.

- Trial and error continues

- That leaves a guess: what happened with SpaceX or whoever drilled around that hills?

- Wasted resources, wasted time, wasted energy.

Rest is Dulut Klongtoey ( or puk num ) gobbledeegook, at it's best.

Chok dee,

@canopy

a very poor argumeted post about things you know nothing about. Adding complexity and time to an already challenging operation,  with uknown potential fails during operating a new device, I think that is the core of what we are discussing!

The dont have time to try and fail with new toys now!

I am afraid you just scored an own goal once again. First of all telling me I am wrong won't work because unlike you I focus on reporting what I see the experts doing so trying to drag me into the discussion will do you no good. I am not wrong for doing this and you already discredited yourself by griping at me and becoming annoyed for posting relevant, completely on topic information directly from Elon.

Meanwhile you post what? It should be clear to most people the experts pursued new options specifically because they were onto a safer, faster method to get the kids out, not to add complexity and time issues as you believe would happen in your opinion (yawn). From the guesses and incorrect information in your posts you are no expert at anything, just someone posting useless offshore memoirs of nonsense. Sorry, but it's true and it's high time someone called you out on this. Do you want a specific example or 10 to defend or is this enough?

And I can't believe you are still here picking arguments with people. For what exactly? I for one think it's time to get behind the rescuers doing a tough job today and hope for the best possible outcome for everyone.

A brain like Elon Musk should always be welcomed. I am sure many many smart and trained people are discussing the options and Musk has Brains, people that work for him with brains and lots of mechanical engineering equipment and ideas. I see the best in human behavior when I read about the rescue efforts. Many many many men and women we will never know are being heroic in their efforts. Musk has a name that sells newspapers and clicks on google so the press will publish his name but don’t blame him. He is trying to help like many people and nations all over the world. The Thais people also IMO have done a tremendous job so far. Congrats to all —-those named and those that go unnamed.

So be it, Im man enough to stand behind my argumenst, while your attacks on my experience without knowing anything what I base it on, and cut out two sentnces from my post, shows your level. Grow up!

To your information, first group is already in 3. Cave now.

What I am puzzled about is that, he said he sent his team there on Saturday. Proposed several options (safer) for possible extraction and today Sunday, the Thais go ahead with the old plan. So is his help not needed?

Here is the submarine Elon sent out. To go from brainstorming to product in such a short time is fascinating and shows just what can be achieved. Even though it won't be used in this cave rescue it's an idea and a pre-made product that may come in handy in future operations.

It only needs to be leak proof. They aren't going 100m under water.

Nope, in fact depths along the cave route can be about a half bar of pressure. The reason the tube may appear over designed is it is an existing part taken from one of Elon's rockets. A very robust and off the shelf component at the heart that facilitated the rapid build.

Submarine video from Elon

The simulation of making it through the narrowest 70cm corridor in the caves was fascinating. They mocked up the space, added a realistic guide line, and verified it could work with divers. This was no hasty build and slap it out the door for publicity. They really did their homework and testing in their best efforts to save the kids. I have nothing but admiration and respect for all of these people.

Imagine it would have been used here if one of the kids faithful dogs was with them or any of the kids were incapacitated.

STOP denigrating (bagging) the guy! Have any of you got the experience, knowledge, resources or money to assist the recovery efforts? I doubt it.

Some of you seem to be ruled by the "tall poppy" syndrome (a tendency to discredit or disparage those who have achieved notable wealth or prominence in public life - an explanation for those who do not have English as their first language).

an explanation for those who do not have English as their first language

Or for those who are not from Australasia and so are unaware of this otherwise obscure term.

A little about it can be found here for those, like me, who had never heard it before and are interested.
