Note that the Brit cave rescuers have not talked to the media, nor have the US Seals (except for their official spokeswoman, sent for the purpose of drawing off the media and well versed in the art of saying nothing pleasantly) nor the Aus divers.

Indeed. As icing on the cake, her verbal acrobatic talent is also pleasantly accompanied by an accolade of "our gorgeous *her name here* the USN lady captain..." from one poster on this board (who I think has never been to America, either that or he's been spending too much time in the Extreme Orient ie the Far East.)

I bet there's a job opening  in the White House awaiting her when she gets back (our dear Sarah better watch out.)

Sorry, but John Volanthen and Rick Stanton are English. Agree this was a team effort, but there were no Welshmen present when the kids were found.

Don't believe everything you read. Many are bashing trump for his BS USA team involvementBut a western news source says otherwise if you can believe that either

What's Trump got to do with it? The reason I knew the first guys on the scene were English is that it was plain obvious as soon as they spoke... anyone who grew up there can recognise a Welsh accent when they hear one, boyo. One of the first words he said was "brilliant" in an unmistakably southern accent - if he was from the valleys you'd have heard something more like "brelly-aant".

I suspect the confusion came when someone googled John Volthanen and found he was connected with the South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue organisation amongst others (he lives in Bristol so it wouldn't be a long drive to Wales), but he was born in Brighton. The other chap is from Coventry.

Who was it that "found" the team?  The Welsh team who arrived, did the search, found the team, made their report and left - job done.  No hurrahs, no horn blowing, nothing but get on and do the necessary.  Anybody, such as the person called Ben who apparently owes a scuba dive teaching facility, who stood in the sidelines and did not contribute, as far as we know, is only trying to drum up business.  Just a thought.  Cave diving is not the same as just going down, swimming around and coming back up.  It is a very specialised and precarious part of diving and needs special training to become truly proficient.  It is also one of the most dangerous specialised aspects of scuba diving and not everybody can do it.

Was that because the Taffy's are humble or because English isnt their native tongue?
