TACs nationwide told to always be ready for emergencies

 

 

BANGKOK, 9 July 2018 (NNT) – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has instructed all Tourist Assistance Centers (TAC) nationwide to always be prepared for emergencies. 

Tourism and Sports Ministry Permanent Secretary Phongphanu Svetarundra disclosed that he convened an annual meeting for 200 officers from TACs nationwide to establish understanding of their roles, missions and duties to help rehabilitate foreign tourists who suffer from tourism accidents in Thailand. 

He instructed them to always be prepared to accommodate tourists and cooperate with the relevant agencies. 

He called on them to be a good host, facilitate both Thai and foreign tourists and work harder in monsoon season when accidents might possibly occur.

Good question. They appear to come under the Ministry of Sports & Tourism.

 

I see that according to the Pattaya Mail: "To file a report or seek assistance, contact the TAC Call Center at 02-134-4077 24 hours a day."
