I know this looks similar to the question asked a short while ago but that was millions of baht this is less than a thousand. :o

Is it possible to transfer small amounts (not more than 65000 baht) from a thai account to a UK account .

Do you know the approximate cost of this, or , is there a cheaper way of doing this ( at least cheaper than western union) :D

thanks

This is very easy to do. Simply go into a bank and make a telegraphic transfer which is an electronic transfer to the UK account or buy a bank draft which is like an international cheque and needs to be sent to the UK to be deposited into the account. A TT costs 550 baht and a bank draft costs 203 baht - at least those are the charges at one local bank.

Personally, I would do a telegraphic transfer (sometimes called SWIFT transfer).

The bank draft is a valid option, but takes longer to get credited to your UK account, you have to send it by registered letter, and you also must consider your UK bank’s charges, which may be higher for a cheque deposit than for an inward Swift remittance.

Look up the fees of the two banks on their websites, if they have one, to calculate the total cost of transfer.
