Vatana gets jail sentence in Klong Dan case

The Supreme Court on Friday sentenced absconding former deputy interior minister Vatana Asvahame to three years in jail in connection with the Klong Dan scandal, reversing a verdict by the Appeals Court that had acquitted all the 18 defendants in the case.

QUETTA, Pakistan (Reuters) - A suicide bomber killed 128 people at an election rally in southwestern Pakistan in the second election-related attack on Friday, officials said, amid growing tensions over ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif's return ahead of the July 25 vote.
