CCTV from Yala train station in Thailand's far south showed an old man faint and near fall in front of a train coming into the station.

Only the help of a member of the public and a security guard prevented a tragedy, said Daily News.

The man was waiting to get on train number 175 at platform one when he fainted on Saturday.

The footage was posted on the Berita Tempatan site where many people complimented the good Samaritan and the security guard for saving a life.

I know it says he fainted but it almost looks like he's intentionally trying to get under the wheels - hope not.

My thoughts too... he seemed to totter about a bit as the train arrived then did a quick shuffle over to the the edge of the platform & fall down... actually  I think he was trying to do the un-mentionable but bottled at the last second!!

a very lucky man indeed
