The planned remake for Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon has been criticised by Asian Americans and Bruce Lee fans following reports of a director being lined up for the project.

According to Deadline, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch is in discussions to helm the movie, but it has received condemnation on Twitter – including from actors Daniel Wu and Daniel Dae Kim.

Released in 1973, the original movie followed a Shaolin martial artist who enters a martial arts tournament on an island owned by a suspected crime lord named Han.

Many have questioned the decision to bring in Leitch – who is not Asian – as director, with Fast & Furious' Justin Lin and DC's Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan suggested as better alternatives.

Ah, such happy memories; kicking peoole in the teeth and being kicked in the teeth. Still got that side-kick hidden away somewhere, even in my 60s.

Ahh only Asians are allowed to make chop & kick  films.

Racism is a two way street and with their logic, asians should not have been allowed to work on the set of  Driving Miss Daisy,  Selma,  Ben Hur,  etc.
