In a couple weeks I'll be renewing my 5-year Thailand car & mc licences at Pranburi?

As I need 2 complete sets of documents for each licence, do you need 2 original residency certificates from HH Immigration? Or can you have 1 original and make a copy?

Anything else anyone can tell me about doing the renewals at Pranburi would be very helpful.

1 set (original) and 1 copy  is enough, they will accept it, 100% because i did the same 2 months ago in petchaburi dlt ?

Because you did it 2 months ago at Petchaburi you know 100% that it is like this in Prachuap Khiri Khan as well? ?

In the end it depends on the DLT, they all have their own rules, so just call your local DLT and ask.

I actually did that but was none the wiser at the end of the conversation, the confusion was over the word "copy". Like I need 2 copies of the res' cert' because I'm doing 2 licences, but one copy will be a copy (as in photocopy). There's 2 different meanings of the word "copy" and I couldn't get a definite answer from her.

I'll get my Thai wife to phone Pranburi again and see if she can get an answer. Obviously I don't want to pay for 2 originals (1000 Bt) if only 1 original is OK. Nor do I want to roll up at Pranburi with only 1 original and have to drive all the way back to Hua Hin Imm to get a 2nd original.

In Pranburi 3 years ago they asked for 2 originals. Times may have changed. Wouldn't bank on different DLTs being the same

You'll need 2 originals and will politely be charged 500 baht for each

Politely refuse to pay, this is a free service. I did it in Khon Kaen and asked to see the boss, and refused to pay(politely). The boss did it between on about 5 minutes. If they insist, call the immigration hotline.

500, not bad, my IO charges 1500.

No medical certificate required when renewing a 5 year?

No med cert needed for the 5 year renewal.

Med cert was required for my 2-year (on tourist visa) motorcycle licence renewal.  Done at Phuket City DLT two weeks ago.

As far as I know it is now needed for every application. They changed the requirements last year.

Ta,

I'll pop in at my local DLT tomorrow (just down the road)  show 'em my 2 plastics about to expire and ask what I need

for renewal, funny country this, DLTs have quite different ideas about the same things.

OK, med cert. Apparently it wasn't required in the past for 5-year renewals, but if the regulations recently changed then perhaps it is now. I'll have my wife ask Pranburi about that when she'll call them soon regarding the residency certs.

My wife phoned Pranburi DLT this morning. No med cert needed for renewing a 5-year licence, but need 2 original sets of residency certs from imm. Plus, of course, 2 sets of copies of passport pages, plus the expired licences.
