My Retirement Visa is valid till 5 December 2018. Am travelling to UK on 4 November 2018 for 2 or 3 weeks and will be back

before end of November 2018. As I cannot extend visa more than 30 days before at Jomtien Immigration, please advice will

it be ok to extend it on my return in last 5 days ( 1st to 5th December 2018). I have multiple re-entry attached so I presume

I will not have any problem at Airport on return from UK around November end 2018 ? Please advice. Many Thanks in advance.

Not a problem to enter with only 5 days remaining and then apply for the extension.

If you have proof your are leaving the country immigration would do your extension earlier than 30 days.

As UJ stated, renewing a retirement extension earlier than 30 days should be possible. Last year I renewed about 40 days before the expiry date at Jomtien with no problem, or even any comment, from the IO.

I was in a similar position earlier this year.

I could have tried to renew my extension more than the usual 30 days beforehand, but as my office enforce filing a TM30 after re-entry, I decided to wait until my return to file both at the same time.

My decision created some amusement on entry at Swampy with the IO.

He twice checked my current extension and re-entry permit before calling a supervisor.

He checked, they both laughed and shrugged their shoulders before stamping me in for 4 days.

I renewed mine with  45 days left on it last year. I went & talked to the officers in Jomtien & they couldn't have been more helpful. It was actually about 50 days before expiry on my visa & she said can do when 45 days left, went & talked to the boss. When she returned she suggested that I was leaving to go to " work " & a letter from my company in Australia as well as a ticket showing when I was leaving would suffice. Went back in with 45 days left with letter regarding work & e ticket & picked up the extension the next day. The year extension was taken from the original expiry date so didn't loose any time.
