I for one don't see what the argument is about. Currently, if the taxation department know you are a non resident and are interested in your situation, you are liable to have your pension taxed at 30 odd percent - there is no argument there, that's an old and established provision in the taxation rules. Luckily for the majority of expats this isn't currently enforced: however there is a proposal on the books to enforce it, how, when or whether this is passed and becomes the norm we currently don't know. So, where is the argument - as an expat you are currently liable to pay this, although as stated it is ignored by the expats and the tax department don't seem to chase it up, however plans are in motion to change this - maybe it will happen, maybe not. Time will tell, in the meantime, relax, enjoy your morning coffee, consider what the ramifications might be if the rules change or simply ignore it and hope for the best. -

I was going to suggest that you chose your English friends more wisely, but then again beggars can't be choosers can they, and birds of a feather do tend to flock together. so your choice is naturally limited. but it shouldn't be too challenging to find somebody who knows that the Giro bank ceased to exist about 20 years ago America invented recorded laughter because the audiences were too stupid to know when to laugh, just think about that before writing any more rubbish -

Tell me about these attractions
Great recommendations. The Chinese temple was like an oven inside, despite the massive floor fans all over the place. It really is a quality attraction though, and only 50 baht. I was surprised to find terra cotta warriors in there. George, you might want to check the definition of laminating. I'd go with "contemplating" . Do you ride a motorbike? It's easy to reach all of the major tourist attractions around Pattaya in a day. There's a really cool place called "Coffee War" a few minutes past Buddha Mountain that's worth a trip. The coffee was good and only 100 baht. The price of admission is any drink, so you could go for water if coffee isn't your thing. Another attraction, though an hour away, is to visit MooDeng, the world famous baby pygmy hippocampus, at a zoo in Si Racha. -

I have personally seen people die, horribly, as a direct result of refusing COVID vaccination. Including an AN board member, greatly influenced by online misinformation. He did not refuse vaccination out of selfishness but out of fear brought on by anti-vax propaganda. -

As was reported in the early days of the war, US intelligence agencies reported that Iran's leaders were actually taken by surprise by the attack. And now Hamas documents that Israeli troops found show that Hamas repeatedly tried to get support for an attack from both Iran and Hezbollah but were repeatedly put off.- 1
