Long Live Your Majesty Queen Sirikit!

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn yesterday accompanied his mother; Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, to attend a merit-making ceremony to celebrate the Queen's 86th birthday anniversary.

 

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, as well as the King's children; Their Royal Highnesses Princesses Bajrakitiyabha and Sirivannavari Nariratana and Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, participated in the event held inside Chitralada Palace.

As Her Majesty has always been considered the mother of the Kingdom, her birthday is marked as National Mothers’ Day.

All government offices and many businesses display Her Majesty’s portrait with blue ribbons – blue is the colour for people born on Friday.

 

Bangkok is lighting up for the Queen's 86th birthday.

Group demands removal of court-owned properties on Doi Suthep

THE resolution to build a new office and residences for the Court of Appeals Region 5 in Chiang Rai has nothing to do with the demand to remove the court properties that are already encroaching on the pristine forest on Doi Suthep, a representative of the Doi Suthep Forest Reclamation Network said yesterday.

And now, as the administration of the Court of Justice has resolved to move the disputed compound to Chiang Rai province, the situation has become even more frustrating for the Network in the absence of any details on what would be done with the compound.

Chiang Rai to open organic fruit and vegetable centre next year

The largest market for fresh fruit and vegetables in the North is scheduled to open in Chiang Rai next year. The market, Talat Lan Muang, is also expected to become a centre for the trading of fresh goods with Myanmar and Laos, thanks to the location of Chiang Rai.
