I got a fungal infection in my scalp a few weeks ago.

I went to the doctor and she gave me a shampoo to use and it went away.

After that I got pimples in my scalp, went back to the doctor and she gave me an antibiotic

cream to use.I'm using it now and they are nearly gone.

She also advised me to check the water tank in case the water was dirty in it.

It was dirty and I cleaned it.

So the only problem I have now is a lump about the sise if a pea sticking out of my scalp,It's been there for months.

I asked the doctor about it and she said that the anti fungal shampoo would help it........it didn't.

I never asked her what it was called so I would like to know what it is and how to cure it.

The "lump" could be any number of things so impossible to tell you what would help.

Have someone look at it and see if it is a lump completely under the skin (no visible sort etc) or if there is a sore type thing. That will help narrow it down. If there is some sort of visible lesion, get a picture.

I can't see it so I will have to wait till my wife comee home to tell you what it looks like.

I can feel a lump rising out of my scalp like a hemesphere and the doctor said antifungal shampoo would help so I think it's the fungal type.

If all esle fails I will go back to the doctor and find out the english name for it..

Should not have pricked unless there appeared to be white/yellow fluid under it.

Suggest you stop the spousal tx. Her "boil" diagnosis may be wrong.

It may just be irritated patch of skin from fungal infection.

Give it time, keep using the shampoo and you could also apply some antifungal cream to the sore (clotrimazole).

If no improvement in say a week or two see a dermatologist.

Sheryl, as always, gives the best advice.

I have had 'spots' on my scalp, which were sore & irritating.

I  wondered if the shampoo or conditioner caused them, as some of the chemicals can be very harsh.

Started using "Head & Shoulders" shampoo, & the spots have reduced considerably.
